Summary:
On April 17th, 2008 at about 5:41pm, Deputy David Hawley with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office responded to 466 N Highway 101 in regards to a reported wanted subject. Deputy Hawley received information from a citizen that Harold J. Lee, 46 years old from Depoe Bay was at the 76 gas station in Depoe Bay. Harold Lee had two outstanding Warrants for his arrest. When Deputy Hawley attempted contact, Harold Lee took off on a bicycle in effort to avoid getting arrested. Deputy Hawley activated his overhead lights and sirens and followed Harold Lee through the back streets of Depoe Bay. Harold Lee was able to escape custody when Deputy Hawley attempted to chase Lee on foot. Later that Night Deputy Derek Etheridge and Deputy Hawley chased Lee again near 35 Cook St. in Depoe Bay but were unable to find him.
On April 18th, 2008 Deputies, David Boys, Brian Cameron, and Gary Davey located Harold Lee fixing his bike near the 300 block of Collins St. Deputy David Boys placed him in custody for the two outstanding warrants. Deputy Hawley charged Harold Lee with Interfering with a Police Officer, Disorderly Conduct in the 2nd Degree and Reckless Driving. Lee was booked and lodged at the Lincoln County Jail with a bail of $20,000.
