Summary:

On March 15th, 2008, at about 4:45 PM, Deputy Sorby, with the Lincoln County Sheriffs Office, was involved in a short vehicle pursuit on Yaquina Bay Rd at about mile post one in Newport. Deputy Sorby spotted Todd Ramsey driving east bound on Yaquina Bay Rd. Ramsey has a Felony Warrant for his arrest along with other pending charges stemming from a previous vehicle pursuit. When Deputy Sorby turned his patrol car around to attempt to stop Ramsey he accelerated. Ramsey attempted to ditch Deputy Sorby by turning up George St off of Yaquina Bay Rd. Deputy Sorby followed Ramsey when he suddenly slammed on his brakes and ran from the vehicle.

Deputy Sorby pursued Ramsey on foot and chased him into the woods. Ramsey went down a ravine and continued to run. Ramsey continued to run and was able to escape. Deputies searched the area and were unable to locate him. Any one with information regarding Ramsey is asked to contact the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
