Summary:
On March 1, 2008, Lincoln County Sheriff's Forest Deputy Gary Davey discovered 44 year-old Isidor Francisco-Ocampo of Toledo and his crew harvesting salal on property owned by the Confederated Tribes of Siletz in Logsden. Francisco-Ocampo and his crew gained access to the property by bypassing a locked gated, which was posted "No Trespassing". During the investigation, Deputy Davey seized 120 bundles off salal, which was harvested without a permit. Francisco-Ocampo was cited for Criminal Trespass II and for Cutting/Transporting of a Minor Timber Product. The proceeds from the sale of the seized salal shall be turned over to the Confederated Tribes of Siletz.
