Summary:

On February 13th, 2008, at about 9:43pm, Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputy Chris Miller responded to 1147 NE Newport Heights Drive, Newport, Oregon regarding a complaint of an assault on a child.

Deputy Miller contacted Armando Trejo Martinez, 30, of Newport. An investigation revealed that Martinez used a belt to strike his 10 year old child, causing injuries to the child. Martinez was arrested and lodged at the Lincoln County Jail for Criminal Mistreatment in the First Degree, and held on $25,000 bail. The child did not require immediate medical treatment and was released to his mother.
