Incident:	Shots Fired Leads to Drug Arrest

Summary:

On January 12, 2008 at approximately 10:46am, Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a shooting complaint in the 4000 Block of Sams Creek Road, east of Toledo, Oregon. A caller reported he was being shot at by subjects at a nearby residence. Sergeant Adam Shanks and Deputy Bruce Mcguire arrived on scene and detained three subjects at the location. Investigation revealed the subjects were target practicing in a safe direction on their own property.

One of the subjects detained, 45 year old William Louis Smith of Logsden, was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and Methamphetamine during a pat down search for weapons. Deputy Mcguire placed Smith in custody and lodged him in the Lincoln County Jail on one count of Unlawful possession of Methamphetamine. His bail was set at $25,000.00.
