Summary:
On January 10, 2008, at about 9:14 AM, jail deputies responded to the jail's booking area to assist booking deputies with a hostile inmate, Sean Christian Koch, age 41 of Gleneden Beach. Mr. Koch became agitated and the booking deputies elected to place him in the restraint chair. During the deputies' efforts to remove the subject from the cell, Mr. Koch charged the deputies and a struggle ensued. Several deputies were injured as a result of the altercation. All deputies were evaluated by the jail medical staff with one deputy being sent to Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital for further evaluation. Mr. Koch was charged and lodged on 4 counts of Assault on a Police Officer. Security Release amount was set at $100,000.
Mr. Koch was remanded to the custody of the Sheriff on January 7, 2008 to serve a sixty day sentence for DUII and another thirty day sentence for DUII and Failure to Appear on a Citation.
Koch remains in custody at the time of this news release.
