Summary:
On 01/07/08 Reserve Deputy Cailie Denue along with assistance from the Newport Police Department investigated a domestic disturbance that occurred in the Yachats area. Upon contact with the victim, officers determined the victim sustained injuries from the altercation. The altercation was also witnessed by the couple's 6 month-old child. Subsequently the suspect, Alejandro Oretga-Rodriguez, 27, of Yachats was taken into custody by the Newport Police and transported to the Lincoln County Jail where he was lodged. Ortega-Rodriguez was charged with Felony Assault IV, Strangulation, and Menacing. Ortega-Rodriguez bail was set at $40,000.00.
