Summary:

On December 24, 2007 at about 07:08 a.m. Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy Abby Dorsey investigated a single vehicle traffic crash in the area of Criteser Loop and Yaquina Bay Road, Toledo. The vehicle was found unoccupied when officers arrived on scene. Deputy Dorsey contacted the registered owner of the vehicle in Newport and upon further investigation she learned the driver of the vehicle was Stephen Charles Smiley, 45, of Newport. Subsequently Deputy Dorsey was able to contact Smiley at a nearby residence and take him into custody on an outstanding warrant out of Union County for Fail to Appear, bail $5,000.00. Smiley was cited to appear and released at his residence.
