Summary:
On December 26, 2007 at approximately 1:00AM, Deputy Colin Teem with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office followed a 2000 Black Ford Mustang north on Hwy 101 from SE 23rd St. in Lincoln City, OR. Deputy Teem observed the vehicle swerving in the lane and nearly drive off the roadway several times. Deputy Teem conducted a traffic stop and contacted the driver Norma Gutierrez, age 26 of Salem, OR. Gutierrez had a strong odor of alcohol, blood shot eyes and slurred speech. Deputy Teem conducted a DUII investigation and placed Gutierrez into custody for DUII. At the time of the traffic stop Gutierrez had her ten year old and four year daughters in the vehicle. Gutierrez was driving to Salem from Lincoln City.
Gutierrez was transported to the Lincoln County Jail where she refused a breath test. Gutierrez was lodged at LCJ for DUII and two counts of Reckless Endangering. The bail was set at $22,500.00. Gutierrez was also issued a citation for refusing to provide a breath sample.
