Traffic Safety Grants Awards

Your Lincoln County Sheriff's Office has been awarded traffic safety grants to assist in traffic safety enforcement operations in Lincoln County by the Oregon Department of Transportation through the Oregon State Sheriff's Association. The grants include a DUII Overtime Enforcement Grant in the amount of $4,500.00 and a Seat Belt Enforcement Grant in the amount of $5,000.00. All grant funds are to be used by the end of September, 2008. While the safety belt overtime funds are scheduled to be used during three specific region-wide scheduled blitz campaigns, the DUII grant funds will be utilized for extra deputy patrol during times and events associated with higher numbers of impaired drivers.

Sheriff Dennis Dotson stated, "The traffic safety grants funded by our partners at the Oregon Department of Transportation and the Oregon State Sheriff's Association is yet another valuable resource that helps your Lincoln County Sheriff's Office achieve the result of improved safety in our communities."
