Location:	Highway 101 and Highway 18 Junction

Summary:

On October 14, 2007 at 12:49 a.m., Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputy Ryan McPartlin conducted a traffic stop on Highway 18 at the Highway 101 junction, for a lighting violation. A passenger in the vehicle, identified as 29 year old Kelly Katen, from Otis, had a misdemeanor warrant out of Marion County for drug charges and was taken into custody. A consent search revealed that the driver, 29 year old Johnathan Cole of Lincoln City, had a small amount of marijuana on him and he was issued a citation for Unlawful Possesion of Marijuana. Cole did not appear to be under the influence. Katen was transported to the Lincoln County Jail where she was lodged without bail.
