Summary:
On October 12, 2007, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy Colin Teem was dispatched to a theft of a pet carrier at Ray’s Food Place in Waldport, Oregon that occurred the day before. Deputy Teem contacted the victim who reported someone stole his pet carrier from the front of the store where he had set it for a short period of time. Deputy Teem reviewed surveillance video with the store manager and developed possible suspects.
Within an hour Deputy Teem located and recovered the pet carrier at a residence on SE Jefferson Street in Waldport, Oregon. Deputy Teem subsequently contacted the suspect, 33 year old Jerrie R. Romero of Newport, Oregon at her place of employment. Romero admitted to having her nine year old daughter take the pet carrier from the front of the store and put it into her vehicle. Romero was placed into custody and cited and released for Theft II.
