Summary:

On September 25, 2007 at approximately 9:14pm, Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputy Eric Sorby responded to an unknown medical call at a residence near the 100 block of Elk City Road, south of Toledo, Oregon. Upon his arrival, Deputy Sorby learned from a Toledo Police officer already at the scene that 43 year old Jeri Renee Baker of Toledo, Oregon had suffered an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Baker was transported to Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital in Newport and then transferred to Emanuel Hospital in Portland via LifeFlight. Baker is listed in critical condition.
