Summary:
On August 30th, 2007 at about 9:53 p.m. Lincoln County Sheriff's Office Deputy Cummings was following a red 2000 Ford F150 pickup south on U.S. Hwy 101 near mile post 157 when he observed it cross over the painted white fog line. Deputy Cummings also observed the vehicle was traveling 60 mph in a posted 45 mph speed zone. Deputy Cummings initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the driver, identified as 59 year old Mark A. Walters from Waldport, Oregon. Mr. Walters had an adult female passenger in the pickup with him. During the contact Deputy Cummings observed signs of impairment. After completing a DUII Investigation Deputy Cummings arrested Mr. Walters for Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol. Mr. Walters was transported to the Lincoln County Jail where he provided a breath sample. Mr. Walter's BAC was measured at .11%.
Mr. Walters was lodged at the jail under the charges of DUII and Reckless Endangering Another. His bail was set at $15,000.00 and his pickup was Impounded.
