Incident:	Violation No Contact Order and Warrant Arrest

Summary:

On 08-29-07 at about 7:25 PM Lincoln County Sheriff's Sgt. Mark Meister was stopped at the intersection of Highway 101 and SW Lee St. in Newport allowing two pedestrians to cross in the marked crosswalk. As the pedestrians were crossing the highway a white Toyota 4Runner passed Sgt. Meister's patrol vehicle in the inside southbound lane and failed to stop for the crossing pedestrians. Sgt. Meister stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver John William Sutton, age 30 of Newport. Sutton had a warrant for his arrest for Fail to Appear. In addition to the warrant there was a Domestic Protection Order prohibiting Sutton from contacting his passenger.

Sutton was arrested on the warrant and for Violation of a No Contact Order and transported to the Lincoln County Jail where he was lodged on a bail of $22,502.00.
