Commissioners Tour Jail
On Wednesday, August 29, 2007, Lincoln County Commissioners Bill Hall, Don Lindly, and Terry Thompson toured the Lincoln County Jail. The commissioners joined jail commander Lieutenant Jamie Russell and Sheriff Dotson for the commissioner’s yearly inspection of the jail.
The inspection included tours of the booking area, central control, all inmate housing areas, medical, the kitchen, mechanical room, and the loading/receiving bays.
In a memorandum to the Sheriff, Commissioner Hall stated, “In terms of both physical plant and personnel, you have much to be proud of.” “The facility is clean, bright and well-maintained.”
Commissioner Lindly noted that the demeanor of both staff and inmates was equally impressive. “It’s clear that employees take pride in their work and value maintaining positive relationships with inmates,” Lindly stated.
As chair of the Board of Commissioners, Commissioner Hall concluded his comments to Sheriff Dotson by stating, “My thanks and compliments to you, Lt. Russell, and your entire team.” “It is clear that you are not merely committed to maintaining your already high standards, but to finding ways to exceed them.”
