NEWS RELEASE

Date: Aug 16, 2007

Animal Shelter Cutting Back Hours

The Lincoln County Animal Shelter will be trimming back its hours of operations beginning August 21. The reduced hours will continue for one month and return to normal business hours on September 21, 2007.

The Animal Shelter has recently lost three employees who took advantage of other opportunities. One full-time position and two part-time positions are currently available. We are seeking applicants for all three positions. The Shelter staff consists of two full-time employees and six part-time employees when all positions are filled.

Part-time positions are funded for less than 20 hours per week and with a reduced workforce, it is impossible to remain within those hours and still operate the shelter at its current service level. The Shelter will remain open on Saturdays from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM to help accommodate the majority of our customers during this difficult time. Tuesday through Friday, the Shelter will be open from 10:00AM until 1:00PM.

If you have lost or found an animal and are unable to come into the shelter please call 265-6610 to file a report. The shelter still has a variety of nice dogs and cats looking for new homes. We encourage you stop by the Shelter and find your new best friend.
