Incident: Jail Inmates Working at Animal Shelter-Update
Date Occurred:
Time Occurred:
Location: Lincoln County Animal Shelter

Summary:

Sheriff Dotson is pleased to announce that during the past three weeks, inmates from your Lincoln County Jail have been assigned to work at your Lincoln County Animal Shelter. Some of their duties include cleaning of the dog kennels inside and out; the cat kennels and litter boxes are cleaned set up and ready to return the cats. Not only are they assisting staff with duties around your Shelter, but they are also learning how to handle and care for the animals.

Inmates are currently working approximately 2-3 hours per day, three days a week, which is a daily savings of 5-6 hours of cleaning for the shelter staff.

Inmates currently incarcerated in your Lincoln County Jail enjoy the work they are doing.
