Summary:
On 07/15/07 at about 1:02 am, Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputy Eric Gulbranson was conducting a routine check of Driftwood Creek State Park and discovered Zachary Luke Tyler, age 27 of Newport in the parking lot. Deputy Gulbranson contacted Tyler and observed a coin operated Oregonian newspaper machine in the back of the vehicle Luke had been operating. Tyler admitted that he had just stolen the newspaper machine from in front of a business in Yachats. Tyler was in the process of cutting the lock off to take the coins from the machine. Tyler was arrested and lodged at the Lincoln County Jail for Theft II. His bail was set at $7,500.00.
