Summary:
On 7/8/07, at about 11:18 PM, Deputy Eric Sorby, with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, conducted a traffic stop on a white Chevrolet passenger car. Deputy Sorby contacted the driver, Mathew Self, and the passenger, Garth Bayer. Deputy Sorby learned that both men were suspended and Self was on Parole for drug offenses. Deputy Sorby obtained consent to search the vehicle and located Methamphetamine, Methadone, Marijuana, packaging materials, digital weigh scales, a 9mm Pistol, throwing knives, a dagger, and several other prescription medications. Deputy Sorby was able to link all of the items to Bayer and took him into custody. Bayer was transported to the Lincoln County Jail where he was lodged. Bayer’s bail was set at 150,000.00.
