DEPUTY INVOLVED IN SHOOTING
A review of the shooting involving Kory Pederson and a Lincoln County Deputy Sheriff has been concluded according to Sheriff Dennis Dotson. During the early morning hours of June16, gun shots were exchanged between Kory Pederson and Deputy Sheriff Chris Miller. Mr. Pederson was arrested and lodged into the Lincoln County Jail.
Sheriff Dotson stated, “We are pleased that Deputy Miller was not injured in this incident.” “An internal review of this incident reveals that Deputy Miller reacted to the use of deadly force within this office’s policies, rules, and procedures,” stated Sheriff Dotson.
Dotson added that Deputy Miller will return to duty at an appropriate time which will be determined by this office and Deputy Miller.
Sheriff Dotson stated, “We are indebted to the people who assisted Deputy Miller at the time of the incident and to those who have demonstrated their support for him since that time.”
