Summary:
On 6/1/07 at about 6:30 PM, Deputy Sorby with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office attempted to serve a warrant on Moses Hurd, 36, of Newport, at 715 SW Fall St #5. Deputy Sorby contacted a male at the residence who identified himself as Bill Cosby. The male then shut the door on Deputy Sorby and jumped out a back window of the apartment. With the help of Newport Police Department Hurd was located hiding in the laundry room near by. Hurd was transported to the Lincoln County Jail where he was lodged for False Information to Police and a Fail to Appear Warrant. Hurd’s bail was set at $37,500.00.
