Summary:
On 05-11-07 Deputy Colin Teem arrested Rhonda Newman, age 46 of Depoe Bay, for Criminal Mistreatment in the first degree and Theft by Deception in the first degree as a result of an investigation by Detective Quentin Bendel of the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office. Newman was transported to the Lincoln County Jail where she was lodged. Newman was subsequently released. On 5/31/07, at about 2200 hours, Deputy Sorby with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office took Newman into custody again, but this time for Tampering with Physical Evidence, Obstructing Governmental Administration, and Hindering Prosecution as a result of further developments in the case. Newman was transported to the Lincoln County Jail where her bail was set at $40,000.00.
