Summary:
On April 23rd, 2007 Lincoln County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a Domestic Disturbance that resulted in a single vehicle crash near mile post 2.5 on Eckman Creek Rd. Upon arrival Deputy Cummings discovered a blue 1992 Chrysler LeBaron had driven over a steep embankment and crashed at the bottom of a 150' ravine. During the investigation Deputy Cummings learned the driver of the vehicle, identified as William T. Goree Jr., age 46 from Waldport, Oregon had kidnapped his girlfriend prior to wrecking his car. Mr. Goree had left the scene of the accident before Sheriff's Office deputies arrived. Oregon State Police and the Waldport Fire Department assisted the Sheriff's Office in searching the area for Mr. Goree, but were unable to locate him.
On April 25th, 2007 Mr. Goree turned himself in at the Sheriff's Office and he was arrested for Kidnapping II, Harassment and Reckless Driving. Mr. Goree was lodged at the jail and his bail was set at $62,500.00.
