Summary:
On April 23rd, 2007 at about 6:25 p.m. while traveling south across the Alsea Bay Bridge on U.S. Hwy 101 near mile post 155 in Waldport, Oregon Deputy Cummings observed a dark blue Ford van traveling north at 71 mph. Deputy Cummings attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle and he lost the van near Bayshore Dr. Deputy Cummings located the van a short time later traveling at a high rate of speed south on Bayshore Dr. near the 1200 block. Deputy Cummings performed a traffic stop on the van and made contact with the driver, identified as Christopher J. Brazil, age 44 of Waldport. During the contact with Mr. Brazil Deputy Cummings observed several signs of intoxication. Deputy Cummings conducted a DUII Investigation and arrested Mr. Brazil for DUII. Mr. Brazil was transported to the Lincoln County Jail where he provided a breath sample. Mr. Brazil's BAC was measured at .13%. Mr. Brazil was lodged at the jail for Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol and his bail was set at $7,500.00.
