NEWS RELEASE

Date: April 23, 2007

SHERIFF’S OFFICE COMMUNITY MEETING

Citizens were pleased with the presentation of the Kim search investigation by their Sheriff’s Office on April 19. The Kim family made international headlines in November and December 2006 when it became apparent they were missing in southern Oregon. A presentation from Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy Bruce McGuire offered insight into the Kim family search. Deputy McGuire was a member of the investigation team organized to examine the search effort for the family.

The presentation was made during the latest community meeting sponsored by the Sheriff’s Office on April 19, 2007. This was the seventh community meeting held in Lincoln County since April 2006. “It was great to see a turnout of citizens from each area of the county” said Sheriff Dotson. The Command team and several other Sheriff’s Office members were on hand as well to meet and talk with audience members

The Sheriff’s Office presented its Community video to the audience and shared some of the Sheriff’s Officer citizen survey results from September 2005. A list of suggestions offered from the previous six community meetings was reviewed and the results of those suggestions shared with the audience.

“We are pleased that all but a few of the citizen suggestions have been implemented since last year, and our intentions are to continue with those efforts” said Sheriff Dotson. “More community meetings will be held around the county and we encourage citizens to attend to learn more about their Sheriff’s Office” said Sheriff Dotson.
