Summary:
On April 8, at approximately 1:45 PM, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a fight in progress at the Rocky Creek State Park in Depoe Bay, Oregon. Upon arrival, Deputy Teem and Deputy Vertner found the parties had separated. A further investigation revealed Marcelino Segrero-Campos, age 22 of Salem Oregon, had come to Newport for Easter Sunday to visit his son. After shopping in Newport with his ex-wife and son, Campos agreed to take her home. Instead he drove her to the state park against her will. His ex-wife contacted friends who attempted to assist and were assaulted by Campos during the incident. Oregon State Police Trooper Plummer arrived and arrested Campos for Driving Under the Influence. Campos was lodged at the Lincoln County Jail for Kidnapping II, Assault IV and Driving Under the Influence with a bail set at $65,000.00.
