Summary:
On February 13, 2007 at about 8:59 p.m. Lincoln County Sheriff's Office was dispatched a vehicle crash in the 2000 block of NW Bayshore Dr. near Waldport, Oregon. Deputy Cummings arrived on scene and learned Bobby S. Bitner, age 26 of Waldport, Oregon, was driving a 1994 Dodge pickup and crashed into a parked Volkswagon van. Mr. Bitner had fled from the scene prior to Deputy Cummings arriving.
Sgt. Turre later located Mr. Bitner at the Howard Johnson Inn and detained him. Deputy Cummings conducted a DUII investigation after observing signs of impairment. Mr. Bitner was arrested for DUII, Reckless Driving and Hit and Run. Mr. Bitner was transported to the Lincoln County Jail where he provided a breath sample. Mr. Bitner's BAC was measured at .17%
Mr. Bitner was lodged at the jail and received a traffic citation for Driving While Suspended (Violation). Mr. Bitner's vehicle was Impounded.
