Summary:
On January 20, at about 7:35 PM, Lawrence Gaskey, 67, of Toledo was contacted on a traffic stop at the intersection of E Olive St and John Moore Rd in Newport. During the stop Sheriff’s Deputy Sorby detected a odor of alcohol beverage. Deputy Sorby conducted a DUII investigation and found Gaskey to be impaired. Gaskey was arrested for DUII and was transported to the Lincoln County Jail, where he took a breath test, result was .05% BAC. A Drug Recognition Evaluation was conducted and Gaskey was found to be under the influence of controlled substances. Gaskey was lodged at the Lincoln County Jail with bail set at $7,500.
