Summary:

On January 5, 2007 at approximately 12:30am, Lincoln County Sheriff's Sergeant Adam Shanks responded to a report of an assault at a residence in the 1100 block of NW James Frank Road in Siletz, Oregon. Sergeant Shanks contacted an adult female at a neighboring residence to the incident location who reported she was physically assaulted by her husband, 46 year old Richard Alan Kelly of Siletz. Investigation revealed the female sustained physical injury during the assault. An attempt to contact Kelly at his residence was unsuccessful.

On January 5, 2007 at approximately 11:00am, Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputy Jeff Hughes was dispatched back to the Kelly Residence on a report of a stabbing. Deputy Hughes responded to the location and contacted Richard Kelly who had returned to the house. Kelly reportedly sustained minor stab wounds from an altercation with his wife the previous night. Kelly was transported to Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital in Newport where he was treated and released to the custody of Deputy Hughes. Kelly was subsequently lodged in the Lincoln County Jail on one count each of Assault IV domestic and Menacing. His bail was set at $15,000.00.

Investigation into the reported stabbing is under investigation by your Lincoln County Sheriff's Office.
