Summary:
On December 14, 2006 at approximately 7:14pm, Lincoln County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a report of a single vehicle traffic crash on Hidden Valley Road in Toledo, Oregon. Deputies responded to the scene and discovered a white 1984 Toyota pickup resting on its top approximately 30 feet down an embankment next to a creek bed. The vehicle was unoccupied at the time of arrival.
Deputies received information that the driver of the vehicle, 52 year old Bert Edmond McKibben of Toledo, Oregon, had walked to his residence on Hidden Valley Road after the crash. Deputies responded to McKibben's residence. McKibben was transported to Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital by PacWest Ambulance for treatment of injuries he sustained during the crash.
Deputy John Beckwith contacted McKibben at the hospital. During contact with McKibben, Deputy Beckwith detected signs of impairment. Deputy Beckwith conducted an investigation and subsequently cited and released McKibben for Driving under the influence of intoxicants. McKibben was released at the hospital.
