Summary:
On November 27th, 2006 at about 11:50am, a citizen reported an intoxicated male driver operating a blue van. The citizen had seen the male driver leave a bar, visibly intoxicated, and reported the driver was driving very recklessly. The citizen provided a description of the van, vehicle license number, and description of the driver. Deputy Chris Miller located the van near the intersection of Hurbert and Hwy 101 in Newport.
Deputy Miller observed the driver driving poorly and conducted a traffic stop on the van. The driver, Robert J. Armont Jr, 58 of Salem was visibly intoxicated. Deputy Miller arrested Armont for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants and transported Armont to the Lincoln County Jail where he refused to take a breath test. He was lodged on $7,500 bail.
