Incident:	Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Menacing

Time Occurred:	Approximately 1:32 AM
Location:	North end of the Yaquina Bay Bridge, Newport

Summary:

On 10/20/06 at about 1:32 am Deputy Gulbranson and Sergeant Shanks of the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office and Newport Police Department Officer Real located an intoxicated male on the Yaquina Bay Bridge. Deputy Gulbranson contacted the male who was later identified as Aaron Ross Shawver, age 20, of Newport. Upon contact, Shawver pulled out a pocket knife and menaced Deputy Gulbranson. Shawver was subdued at gunpoint and was placed into custody without further incident or injury to anyone involved. Shawver was lodged at the Lincoln County Jail for Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Menacing. He was also cited for Minor in Possession of Alcohol. His bail was set at $32,500.00.
