Incident:	Attempted Burglary/Resisting Arrest

Location:	8645 NW Pacific Coast Highway, Seal Rock

Summary:

On 10/15/06 at about 08:28 a.m. Deputy Abby Dorsey was dispatched to an attempted burglary that had just occurred at a residence in the Seal Rock area. The victim reported a transient male subject had just attempted to force his way into his residence. With the physical and clothing description provided by the victim, Deputy Dorsey was able to locate and identify the suspect as Gene Owen Chapman, 47, of Newport. When Deputy Dorsey attempted to detain Chapman, he physically resisted and had to be forcibly taken into custody. Chapman was transported to the Lincoln County Jail where he was lodged for Attempted Burglary I, and Resisting Arrest.
