Location:	FV "Keta" at Port Dock 3 in Newport, Oregon

Summary:

On October 11, 2006 at about 12:18am, Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputy Lance Cummings was called to assist the Newport Police Department with a disturbance in front of the Barge Inn in Newport. Deputy Cummings was asked to make contact with an assault victim at the Rogue Brewery on the bayfront and conduct an investigation. Deputy Cummings learned an adult male at the location was physically assaulted by Donald R. Young, age 39 of Hoquiam, WA, with a baseball bat. The victim was transported to Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital for treatment of injuries.

With the assistance of the Newport Police Department, Deputy Cummings located Donald Young on the Fishing Vessel, "Keta," and took him into custody. Mr. Young was charged with Assault II and lodged at the Lincoln County Jail. His bail was set at $50,000.

Mr. Young was also charged with Assault IV (Domestic) by Newport Police Department, relating to a second victim.
