Location:	Yatel Motel, 640 Hwy 101 N., Yachats, Oregon

Summary:

On September 28, 2006 at about 11:25 A.M. Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputy Abby Dorsey, along with personnel from the Yachats Fire Department and Central Oregon Coast Fire Department responded to the Yatel Motel inYachats Oregon to a report of a possible assault victim found in a motel room. When emergency personnel arrived on scene they contacted Derek Taylor, age 57 of Yachats. Taylor had an apparent head injury and was unable to communicate at the scene. Mr. Taylor was transported to Samaritan Communities Hospital in Newport for evaluation and subsequently transported by Lifeflight to Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis. At this time Mr. Taylor is in intensive care and investigators have not been able to communicate with Mr. Tayler to determine what caused his injuries.
