Summary:
On September 3, 2006 at about 1039 a.m. Deputy Abby Dorsey and Deputy Chris Miller stopped a vehicle in the Waldport area that was reported to be a possible Drunk Driver. The driver of the vehicle displayed signs of impairment when contacted by the Deputies. The driver was unable to present a drivers license at traffic stop, and also failed Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. The driver, later identified as ,Warner William Tautest age 69 of Newport was taken into custody for DUII and transported to the Lincoln County Jail. Tautest submitted a breath sample which disclosed a BAC of .16%. Tautest was lodged for DUII; False Information to a Police Officer, and Fail to Carry/Present a Drivers License. Tautest was also cited for Open Container Alcohol, and No Operators License.
