Summary:
On July 19th, 2006 Lincoln County Sheriff's Forest Deputy Gary Davey cited 42 year-old Robert Christopher Dunn of Newport, Oregon into Lincoln County Circuit Court for Offensive Littering. Dunn and his family were transient and had been camping in the area at the time of the incident. Upon vacating the area and moving to a permanent residence, Mr. Dunn left a large amount of trash and personal effects at the location. Deputy Davey, newly appointed to the Forest Deputy position with the sheriff's office, estimated the amount of trash at the dumpsite to exceed 1000 pounds in weight.
Deputy Davey commented that he is "committed to enforcing the laws in the State of Oregon regarding littering, and will hold those accountable that choose to deface our community and forest lands with their trash."
