Summary:
On July 12, 2006 Lincoln County Sheriff's Office received a report that a 15 year old juvenile ran away from home by stealing a U-Haul truck the family just used to move to our area from California. Sheriff's Deputies later learned the juvenile had returned home.
Deputy Cummings contacted the juvenile at his residence in Seal Rock, Oregon and learned he had crashed the U-Haul truck into a tree. Upon completeing an investigation Deputy Cummings arrested the juvenile for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Criminal Mischief I. The juvenile was lodged at the Juvenile Detention Facility in Newport, Oregon.
On July 12, 2006 a few hours after lodging the juvenile, Deputy Cummings was notified by the Juvenile Detention Facility that the juvenile had Marijuana concealed on his person. Deputy Cummings re-contacted the Juvenile at the Detention Facility and charged him with Supplying Contraband to a Juvenile Detention Facility. The juvenile was also issued a citation for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
The juvenile was lodged at the Detention Facility with a total bail set at $75,000.
